We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how KARTS STUDIO LIMITED (the developer and operator of the Live Weather app, referred to as "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, shares, and safeguards your information when you use our iOS mobile application, Live Weather ("Service"), and how you can delete your data. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
We collect information in the following ways:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly to Us
When you download, install, launch, or use Live Weather, we may collect the following personal information that you provide directly to us:
Communications with Us: When you contact us for customer support, technical assistance, or other inquiries, we may collect your email address and any information you choose to provide.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Service, we may automatically collect the following information about your device and usage:
Device Information: Device name, model, region and language settings, device identifiers (such as IDFA/advertising identifier, collected only after you grant authorization via App Tracking Transparency (ATT)), hardware and status information, IP address, operating system version, and device settings. This information may be collected on our behalf by third-party SDKs we integrate (such as Firebase, AppsFlyer, and Meta).
Log Information: When an error occurs in the app, third-party services (such as Firebase Crashlytics) collect log data such as IP address, device name, OS version, time and date of use, and other statistics.
Location Information: If you enable location-based services (e.g., for the weather lookup feature), we may collect device location information and network carrier information. We will request your authorization before accessing location (via the iOS system location permission prompt). You may disable location permission at any time in "Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services"; some features may be limited if you do so.
Usage Information: App version, language settings, IP address, device type, and how you interact with content in the Service.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
To Provide Our Services: To fulfill our agreement with you and deliver weather-related content.
For Administrative Purposes: Including direct marketing, research and development, network and information security, fraud prevention, detecting security incidents, improving our Service, internal quality control, debugging, and enforcing our agreements.
For Marketing, Advertising, and Improvement: To tailor and provide interest-based advertisements and content personalization, as permitted by applicable law.
With Your Consent: For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.
In accordance with Apple's requirements, if we need to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies (for example, for personalized advertising), we will request your authorization through the system ATT prompt before doing so. You can review or change your authorization status at any time in "Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking." If you decline tracking, we can still provide the core weather service, but features such as personalized advertising may be limited.
The Live Weather app integrates the following third-party services for analytics, attribution, and advertising purposes. These services may collect the device information, log information, and usage information described in this policy, and transmit it to their own servers for processing:
Firebase (Google): Used for analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), among other purposes. Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
AppsFlyer: Used for advertising attribution and marketing performance analysis. Privacy Policy: https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy/
Meta (Facebook): Used for ad delivery and performance analysis. Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
AdMob (Google): Used for displaying and delivering in-app advertisements. Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
In addition to the services listed above, we may also use other analytics providers, advertising networks, or crash-reporting tools (including, but not limited to, services provided by Apple).
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information under the following circumstances:
With service providers who perform functions on our behalf (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support);
To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights;
In connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of assets;
With your consent or at your direction.
Scope of Sharing: We share only the minimum necessary data with the third parties listed above for the relevant purpose, and we require them to apply protections no less protective than those described in this policy. We will not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to the purpose of collection without first obtaining your consent.
6.1
Storage Method and Location
The app's own settings and cached data (such as weather preferences and unit settings) are stored only locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
Third-party services integrated into the app independently collect device information, log information, and other data, and transmit and store it on their own servers. The specific storage method and location are governed by each third party's own privacy policy.
6.2 Retention Period
The app's own settings and cached data: retained for as long as you use the Service and keep the app installed on your device; this data is cleared when you uninstall the app.
Data collected by third-party services: the retention period is determined under the relevant third party's own privacy policy and data retention rules. We require these third parties to provide a level of protection for such data no less protective than that described in this policy.
6.3 Sharing Rules
We share data only with the necessary third parties, and we do not sell your personal information;
Before sharing data with a third party, we require and confirm that the third party provides a level of data protection no less protective than that described in this policy and required by applicable law;
Data sharing with advertising/analytics-related third parties occurs only after you have granted explicit authorization via ATT or other applicable means.
6.4
Deletion Rules
You can delete the app's own locally stored data by simply uninstalling the app. Data collected and stored on the servers of third-party services (Firebase, AppsFlyer, Meta, etc.) must be deleted by submitting a separate request through the means provided by each third party; please refer to the relevant third-party privacy policies listed in Section 4.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and accidental loss or damage. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Live Weather is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, "COPPA"). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at [email protected]. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information and terminate the child's account, unless we are required by law to retain it.
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., the GDPR in the EU, the CCPA/CPRA in California, or the Personal Information Protection Law in China), you may have the following rights:
To access, correct, or delete your personal information;
To object to or restrict certain processing;
To data portability;
To withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before its withdrawal);
To opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell your data; see Section 5 for how we share data);
To limit the use of sensitive personal information: Under the CPRA, precise geolocation is considered "sensitive personal information." If you are a California resident, you have the right to limit our use of your precise location data to what is necessary to provide the weather-related features of the Service. You may exercise this right by disabling location permission in "Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services," or by contacting us at the email below;
To not be discriminated against for exercising any of the above rights.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
The third-party services described in Section 4 ("Third-Party Services") may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions, please note that these countries may not have data protection laws equivalent to those in your jurisdiction. Where required, these third parties represent that they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers; we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies (linked in Section 4) for details specific to each service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you as required by applicable law (for example, via an in-app notice or email). Your continued use of Live Weather after the updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision — please check it periodically.
